My Mother’s Wedding | Short Film | Delnaaz Irani | Sanil Gosavi | Trupti Khamkar | Ajoy Chakraborty

Come on mom everyones ready Do I look alright? Never looked better Are you sure? Just wait until you walk down the aisle and
watch the tribe of monkeys gawk at you. Change my name if they don’t. A tribe of monkeys? So? How do I look? Isn’t this the $4000 Oraios suit? Yeah. Why? It’s just that I’m seeing one for the first
time… A $4000 suit? No, I’m seeing a monkey wear a $4000 suit
for the first time Dont talk about him like that. Hes going
to be your father soon. Yeah being a father is all right, hes a
nice guy but just dont make any babies with him. Our gene pool will get ruined. Imagine that
face on a baby! What’s wrong mom? Nothing Tell me Nothing Tell me I cant afford to have another failed marriage
Arshan. Not everyone’s like dad, mom I know but before marriage everyone’s nice
& caring. It’s only after marriage they reveal their
true colors. Not everyone will always be there for you
son. Why would you say something like that mom? Peters been with you for almost 6 years
now & even if hes not, I’m there. The good looking genes of this family. Always
there for you. Really? Are you really, there with me? Come on Pari everyone’s… Yes I’m ready. Just give me 5 minutes. What’s wrong Pari? Nothing He was only 21 I shouldn’t have given him the car in the
first place. Its all my fault. Are you mad? Don’t talk like that Its your wedding day. Dont cry today
atleast. Arshan wouldnt want to see you like this. Also whenever you cry you turn red like a
tomato and the only time you should turn red is tonight when Peter comes close to you, holds you in
his arms and he’ll touch you here and then here and then youll moan the words yes baby
right here, and then… Okay Kiran I get it. Stop. I get it Kiran. Stop. Kiran Thank you. Hi Kiran, is Parinaaz there? Yes shes getting ready. Well be down
in 5 minutes. I need to see her. Just wait for 10 more minutes my friend. After
the ceremony youll be doing far than just seeing her. I need to see her before ceremony. Peter you cant see her before the ceremony Its bad luck remember. I can’t marry her Kiran if I dont see her
before the wedding. Please send her now. But Peter… Ill be waiting in the garden. Do send her. Listen, he just wants to talk to you. Don’t
overthink now because I know exactly where your mind goes. Really? Why does he want to meet me right
before the ceremony? What could be so urgent? I dont know But what I do know is it’s definitely not
going to be what you’re stressing about. I cant do this. Pari it doesnt have to be this. Confidently go down and talk to him at least. Its probably nothing for all you know. You look amazing. What’s wrong Peter? What’s wrong as in? Listen if you wanna say something, just say
it, say it now and I shall leave You fool, are you crazy? Don’t even joke about
something like this. Then why did you call me down here? I have to give you something, without which
I cant marry you. What? Parinaaz this is Maya and her son Abhishek. They’ve come from afar to meet you and Abhishek
has something to give you. Hi Mom. It’s been a while.
Im pretty sure youve sacrificed many a tears seeing my photographs today and this
letter isnt really going to help. So I request you, to not cry. Okay that was pointless Im pretty sure
youre still crying. I write this letter today for a small reason
and the reason is you. As a kid when I came home from school, I used
to see a face. A face with a smile. A face full of joy As I grew older my father suddenly left us. Then that face lost it’s happiness and you mastered the art of fake smiling pretty
well. 3 years later you met Peter, but the smile
never felt real. Then one day I took out the car & felt like
driving above the speed limit which led to a mistake. But you bore the brunt of my mistake & you
landed up forgetting the art of fake smiling also. So today, on your wedding day why am I writing
all of this? Because Im here to tell you mom that dad
leaving wasnt your fault Me crashing that car wasnt your fault Youve only faulted once. With Peter Your mistake wasnt your decision to marry
him Your mistake was to never have trusted him. I understand, it’s tough to trust someone
after all you’ve been through but please do! The man has waited for almost 6 years now,
for you, for the real Parinaaz and that is my last wish mom. I want you to learn how to smile again and
become that woman I grew up loving. But this time, for Peter. Never will you find a better husband than
him. Yes he does look like a monkey but he loves you. In fact this letter was his idea! The monkeys
making me mouth out this letter on my death bed. Bloody fool. But he did say one thing That no matter
what happens my son just make sure that some part of you is there at your mothers wedding As far as Im concerned, I know Ive put
you through alot. But not even for a second think that I’m gone, Because I’m here, around you, behind you, forever and always. I love you so much Thank you for always holding my hand when
I needed it the most. Ill always appreciate it. Im sorry mom I couldn’t be a part of your
wedding, but Im thankful that atleast Ill be able to see it. Didn’t quite get that did we? Dont worry
you will.
