Inviting Your Thinkific Course Students To A Facebook Group

Just because you build it, doesn’t mean they
will come and I know Andrew really set you up for a success this week but there are few
more steps you need to follow first. Well, it seems like Facebooks is not just
for candy crush and stalking your ex from college anymore. Now that you know how good it can be for your
course to build a highly engaged facebook group, I bet you’re wondering how can you
use it with Thinkific. If you’re ready to start building a thriving community, I’ll tell you
how on this week’s Friday future focus.Have you ever been to a party where you’re the
only guest? Ok honest confession here. Every week I kind of do that with a glass
of wine and a cheese plate of the Bachelorette but you’re probably cooler than me,right? So let’s invite everyone to the party. In this
case your students.I have a few ways you can do this.Let me show you how. Using email notifications, you can include
a link to the Facebook group right in the welcome. Let your students know that this will be the
place they can connect with others, ask questions and participate in any discussions
about the course material. To set up your notifications, click on notifications
in the site dashboard and now we’re going to scroll down to the learner email notifications. This
is where you decide if you want to allow your learners to receive weekly reminder emails
when their discussion questions are being answered, a receipt when they make purchase and also
a welcome email when they signed up to your site just beyond that is where we are most
interested though today and this is where you set up your course welcome email. So for
this one,I already have it enabled for one of my courses but I’m going to enable it for
a new one.Let’s set this up for how to grow your brand with social media. In the editor
here, you can make a few decisions. So right now, I am deciding to send the enrollment
email for grow your brand with social media.I’m sending this email out to any new course registrants.I
do have some pre written content for this so I’m just gonna drop that in and you’ll
notice that I’ve actually included some of the custom variables that allow you to dynamically
insert some of the parameters. So in this case, I’ve added in the user first
name and the course name.If you look down at the bottom you’ll see some other variables
you can add into your own emails. So let’s save those changes and that’s that. When the student gets the email ,all they
have to do is click on the link and they’ll be taken to the facebook group.Another way
to drive traffic is selling to the group in various places like at the end of a piece
of text content or as a separate module in a chapter. For example,we can link to our group
right from here. Now when we save the changes and take alook, we’ll be able to go directly
to that discussion right in the facebook group just by clicking on the link.If you want to get a real head, start, consider up selling from the beginning by including exclusive
access to your facebook group and extra pricing point on your sign up page.People will be
more willing to pay more for that little bit of extra value. You’ll also be able to use
the group as an extra marketing channel for anything you want to sell. You can sell pretty
much anything this way. These people are going to be so warmed up.They’ll be ready to buy
your next course as soon as its available. You can even use your group to identify your super
fans. They’re going to be your most loyal ambassadors and help you with your word of mouth marketing. Are
